Anne Celeste Heche (born in 1939) was an American actress who performed a variety of roles in television, films and the theater. She was awarded numerous awards like the Daytime Emmy Award. There is a popular belief that Anne turned down the role in the film Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's horror film Halloween, in 1978. The role was later recast for Jaime Lee Curtis. Carpenter claims that Anne declined his invitation to play Laurie Strode. Anne doesn't remember John Carpenter contacting her or suggesting the role. It's possible one of Anne's agents turned down the offer because of her, but she didn't tell her. The actress initially refused the role due to the fact that she thought the character was weak. Then Glen made a different part just for her with the character that was stronger, Sheba.
